This Writ Petition is filed seeking for issuance of a writ of Mandamus to declare the inaction of the respondents in terminating dossier criminal sheet (DC Sheet) pending against the petitioner on the file of VI Town Police Station, Krishna District despite there being no criminal cases pending against the petitioner since last more than 10 years as arbitrary, illegal and unlawful and contrary to law and consequently to direct the respondents to terminate the dossier criminal sheet (DC sheet) against the petitioner. 2. Heard.

Case of the petitioner is that even though all the cases registered against the petitioner ended in acquittal and the petitioner submitted a representation to the 1^st respondent on 28.6.2012 to close the dossier criminal sheet pending against him, the respondents are continuing the same without taking any action on his representation. Hence, the writ petition.

The 3^rd respondent filed a counter-affidavit stating that the petitioner is a notorious property offender and involved in decoities and robberies in Chittoor District; that since the year 2011, whereabouts of the petitioner are not known; that the intention of the petitioner in filing the present writ petition is to get the dossier criminal sheet closed, so that he can continue his unlawful activities which includes property offences in the vicinity of the Krishnalanka police station limits and hence he prays to dismiss the present writ petition.

5. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, it is for the 1^st

respondent-Commissioner of Police, Vijayawada to take appropriate decision on the representation dated 28.06.2012 of the petitioner as to whether to continue the dossier criminal sheet against him or not as per Standing Order 598 of A.P. Police Standing Order.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of directing the 1^st respondentCommissioner of Police, Vijayawada to take appropriate decision on the representation dated 28.6.2012 of the petitioner in accordance with law particularly in view of the Standing Order 598 of A.P. Police Standing Order within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. No order as to costs.

7. Criminal Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
