On 20.8.2001 at about 11 a.m., P.W.1-Karinki Bhaskara Rao (hereinafter referred to as ‘injured’) along with his wife Karinki Lakshmi Parvathi (hereinafter referred to as ‘deceased’) and their son aged about 5 years left their village Cherukuwada on a Hero Majestic moped bearing Regn.No.AP 37 J 2880 to caste their vote for the panchayat elections. While they were proceeding on P.P. road and when they reached Gurudatta-Kanaka Durgamma temples, outskirts of Cherukuwada village, the RTC bus bearing Regn.No.AP 10 Z 4960 driven by the accused in a rash and negligent manner, dashed the moped of the injured, as a result of which, the deceased fell under the wheels of the bus, sustained crush injury to the head and died instantaneously. The injured and his son sustained simple injuries. On the report given by the injured, a case was registered and investigated into. After completion of the investigation, charge sheet was filed before the II Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate, Bhimavaram and the learned Magistrate took the same on file as C.C.No.950 of 2001 for the offences punishable under Sections 304-A and 337 IPC.
