Respondent No.2, Smt.Ameena Begum, is the wife of petitioner No.1. Petitioner Nos.2 and 3 are parents and petitioner Nos.4 to 6 are sisters of petitioner No.1. Petitioner No.1 married respondent No.2-de facto complainant in the year 1980. She gave birth to two daughters out of the wedlock. She presented a complaint before the Station House Officer, L.B.Nagar Police Station on 25.08.2008 alleging inter alia that she has been harassed on the ground of additional dowry and that she being not able to put with the harassment, made up her mind to put an end to her life by committing suicide. However, she desisted from the said act keeping in view the future of her two daughters. It is stated in the complaint that petitioner No.1 took her signatures on one stamp paper on the promising of transferring his entire properties in her name as he is going to abroad and thereby, cheated her. Basing on the said report, a case in Crime No.605 of 2008 for the offences under Sections 498-A and 420 I.P.C. came to be registered by the Station House Officer, L.B.Nagar Police Station.
