Contempt Application No. 1037 of 2001 And Suo Motu Contempt Case No. 621 of 2001
Order: (per the Hon’ble the Acting Chief Justice Sri Pinaki Chandra Ghose)
It appears, in this matter, suo motu contempt proceedings were directed to be issued by a Division Bench of this Court against the applicant-contemnor on 18.4.2001 after considering the prayers made by the applicant-contemnor in the writ petition, being W.P.(SR) No. 17128 of 2001 filed by him.
Now, the applicant-contemnor filed an application, being C.A. No. 1037 of 2001 seeking to pardon him by accepting his apology.
In the affidavit filed in support of the application, which was filed on 26.7.2001, the contemnor stated that he is tendering an unconditional apology before the Court and also specifically stated that he realised the mistake committed by him. He further stated that he had no intention to disobey the Court and unknowingly he committed a wrong. Hence, he requested that the Court may pardon him by accepting his apology. The contemnor also
undertook that he will not commit or repeat such conduct in future.
While accepting the unconditional apology tendered by the contemnor, we close the contempt application as well as the suo motu contempt case.
