The petitioners stated to have purchased dry lands covered by Sy.Nos.42/P, 45/1P, 52/1P, 53/4P, 53/1P and 24/1P to an extent of Ac.5.40 cents situated at Nandapuram village, Seethambapuram Mandal, Vizianagaram District. The same were presented to 3^rd respondent who allegedly refused to accept the sale deed for registration. Therefore, the present writ petition is filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to receive and register the document executed by the vendor and vendee.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Pleader for Revenue.

It is well settled law that when a document is presented for registration, it is obligatory on the part of the registering authorities to entertain such document and process the same for registration as per the provisions of the Registration Act, 1908 and the Rules made thereunder.

Therefore, the writ petition is disposed of directing the 3^rd respondent to entertain and process the documents presented by the petitioners in respect of the subject lands. However, it is made clear that such registrations shall be subject to the compliance of the provisions of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 and the Rules made thereunder. Further, if the respondents want to refuse to entertain and process the documents of the petitioners for registration, it is open for the authorities to record reasons for such refusal and communicate the same to the petitioners. There shall be no order as to costs.
