O R D E R :
The petitioners herein claimed to have purchased the land in question from the persons who were determined by the Special
Officer and competent authority as surplus land holders. Admittedly, the vendors of the petitioners did not file any appeal. Though the petitioners preferred an appeal, the same was dismissed by the 2nd respondent on the ground of latches. It was also held that the petitioners who are mere purchasers have no locus standi to question the said order. It is also relevant to note that the possession of the surplus land was taken under panchanama on 08.06.1992 and thereafter, it was allotted to 4th respondent in terms of G.O.Ms.No.504 dated 01.06.1993.
Having regard to the fact that the surplus land, which is claimed to have been purchased by the petitioners was already taken possession and was allotted to third parties, it is not necessary for this Court to go into the merits of the case at this stage.
Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
