The 3^rd respondent has initiated steps for appointment of Anganwadi Worker of Nakkavedhi of Narasannapet Mandal, Srikakulam District. The petitioner, 6^th respondent and certain others applied. Through proceedings dated 23.07.2011, the 3^rd respondent selected and appointed the 6^th respondent. The petitioner challenges the said order.

Heard the learned counsel for petitioner, learned Government Pleader for Women Development and Child Welfare.

The petitioner challenges the appointment of 6^th respondent on several grounds. The principal contention is that she is not a resident of Nakkavedhi of Narasannapet Mandal, Srikakulam District. The Collector is conferred with the powers of an appellate authority to examine the complaints pertaining to appointment of Anganwadi Workers. The petitioner has already filed an appeal before the District Collector, Srikakulam District. It is stated that the remarks of the Revenue Divisional Officer, Srikakulam were called. When the appeal is pending, the petitioner cannot file a writ petition. Hence, the writ petition is disposed of directing the District Collector, Srikakulam, 2^nd respondent to pass appropriate orders on the appeal filed by the petitioner, duly giving opportunity to the 6^th respondent, within a period of two months from the date of this order.

There shall be no order as to costs.
