ORDER:
The 1st respondent University issued a Notification on 17-06-2011 proposing to fill various posts including the posts of Project Assistant in the Department of Folk Lore. There was only one post earmarked for BC ‘B’ candidates. The petitioner belongs to the said category and submitted an application. His grievance is that the respondents have not issued any call letter to him.
Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents.
The writ petition was filed on 01-08-2011 and it was listed for admission on 02-08-2011. An interim order was passed by this Court directing the respondents to permit the petitioner to appear for the interview for the post of Project Assistant, in case, he holds the qualification.
The learned Standing Counsel, however, submitted that interviews were held on 01-08-2011 itself.
Therefore, the question of permitting the petitioner to appear for the interview at this stage does not arise.
Hence, the writ petition is dismissed, leaving it open to the petitioner to work out his remedies depending upon the outcome of the interviews. There shall be no order as to costs.
