CONTEMPT CASE No. 458 OF 2011
O R D E R:
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that as soon as this contempt case has been initiated, the respondent university has paid the salaries payable to the petitioner till the end of March 2011. The learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that even that payment was not reflecting the accurate position. It was an underpayment. Such a statement of fact has been controverted by the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent university. Such controversies are not capable of being resolved in a contempt of court proceeding.
In view of the fact that as per the interim directions granted by this Court on 14.02.2011, salaries payable to the petitioner till the end of March 2011 having been paid, I consider it appropriate to dismiss this Contempt Case, leaving it open to the parties to resolve all subsisting disputes amongst them.
