This writ petition is filed seeking a declaration that the action of the respondents in not considering the request of the petitioners to discontinue the rowdy sheet being maintained against them as arbitrary and illegal.

Heard both sides.

It is stated that though the petitioners were implicated in two criminal cases, after fullfledged trial in S.C.422 of 1998 on the file of the II Additional District & Sessions Judge- Fast Track Court, Ranga Reddy District, and C.C.No.1424 of 2001 on the file of the Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate, East and North, Ranga Reddy District, both the petitioners were acquitted by judgments dated 27-6-2005 and 31-08-2001 respectively. It is stated that no other criminal case is pending against them. Therefore, the respondents are not justified in continuing the rowdy sheet against them. To that effect the petitioners made representations dated 26-122004 and 18-11-2005. However, the respondents failed to consider the same. Hence, this writ petition.

The learned Government Pleader for Home under instructions states that it is a fact that the petitioners were acquitted in S.C.No.422 of 1998 and C.C.No.1424 of 2001 . It is also stated that the representations made by the petitioners for discontinuing the rowdy sheet being maintained against them are under consideration.

Having regard to the nature of the controversy involved, without expressing any opinion on merits , the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the representations made by the petitioners, in the light of the guidelines issued by this court in S.Satyanarayana Vs. State of A.P. as well as Standing Order No.742 of A.P. Police Standing orders and to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the same to the petitioners. No order as to costs.
