Petition under Article 226 of the constitution of India praying that in the circumstances stated in the Affidavit filed herein the High Court will be pleased to issue a Writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus declaring the action of the respondent in not promoting the petitioner to the post of Professor in department of Radio and Television consequent upon the recommendations of the Selection Committee as illegal, arbitrary, discriminatory, vitiated by extraneous considerations and violative of Art. 14 and 16 of the Constitution of India and direct the respondent to promote the petitioner to the post of Professor with effect from the date on which such promotions effected in the Department and extend all the consequentilal benefits.
