This criminal writ petition is filed by the petitioner seeking modification in the condition imposed by the respondent-State vide its order dated 20.01.2026 whereby, he was directed to be released on permanent parole on furnishing a personal bond in the sum of ₹50,000/- as also two sureties of like amount.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that his financial condition is weak and despite the benefit of permanent parole having been extended to him by the State vide order dated 20.01.2026, he is not able to redeem its benefit on account of his

penury. He, therefore, prays that the criminal writ petition be allowed, the order impugned dated 20.01.2026 qua the petitioner be modified in terms that instead of two sureties, the State may be directed to release him on permanent parole on furnishing personal bond only.

Although, learned Public Prosecutor opposed the prayer but, could not dispute that financial condition of the petitioner is weak. In view thereof, the criminal writ petition is allowed in following term(s).

(1) The order impugned dated 20.01.2026 is modified qua the petitioner in terms that the he shall be released on permanent parole only on furnishing personal bond in the sum of ₹50,000/-.
