At the outset, learned counsel for the respondents apprised this Court that during pendency of the petition promotion has been given to the petitioners and after attaining the age of superannuation the petitioners have retired. Counsel submits that under the changed circumstances, this petition has become infructuous.
The writ petition is dismissed as having become infructuous.

However, the petitioners would be at liberty to move application for revival of this petition in case any cause of action still survives.
Copies of the promotion orders of the petitioners are ordered to be taken on record.
