Petitioner has filed instant writ petition alleging inter alia that he could not appear for Physical Examination Test (PET) on the scheduled date due to his sickness and therefore, a prayer has been made to conduct fresh PET for completion of his recruitment process to the post of Sub Inspector pursuant to advertisement dated 28.12.2019.

Respondents have filed reply to writ petition and submitted that in the advertisement as well as in the Standing Orders, whereunder the present recruitment process was commenced, there is no provision for grant of second opportunity for PET, in case candidate(s) does/do not appear in PET on schedueld date for whatsoever reason.

At this stage, learned counsel for petitioner, on instructions of petitioner, submits that petitioner does not want to press this writ petition on merits and seeks permission to withdraw the same.

Respondents have no objection.

Permission is granted.
