The present writ petition has been filed with a prayer for according appointment to the petitioner on the post of Junior Accountant (TSP/ST).
The case of the petitioner is that although her name found place in the select list and she was called for document verification, because of unavoidable circumstances, she could not appear for the same. Therefore, she deserves to be granted one more opportunity for document verification and consequently to be appointed on the said post.
Per contra, learned counsel for the respondents submitted that after the publication of the first select list dated 17.12.2021,

the eligible candidates were called for document verification between 05.01.2022 to 07.01.2022. On the scheduled date, the petitioner did not appear. It has further been submitted that a total of 54 candidates remained absent for document verification and on a representation being submitted by them, one more opportunity was granted to them to appear on 08.02.2022. However, only six candidates appeared on that date and the petitioner chose not to appear. Consequently, the final select list was issued and there being only two ST female candidates available, both were granted appointment. As four vacancies for ST female candidates had been notified, two remained vacant and the same were filled by the male candidates in terms of law.
It is clear on record that the petitioner was granted second opportunity to appear for document verification and she, of her own free will, did not choose to appear. The reason why she could not appear has nowhere been mentioned in the present writ petition. Further, as of date, no seat qua the ST female category remains vacant and therefore also, no relief as prayed for by the petitioner can be granted to her.
In view of the above observations, the present writ petition is dismissed being devoid of merit.
All pending applications also stand disposed of.
