The facts of the case are that the present petitioners were appointed on different posts in the Lok Jumbish Pariyojana, a scheme of the State Government at the relevant time. The petitioners were appointed vide order dated 18.07.2002 and they

continued to work till the year 2012. After the said period, the services of the petitioners were orally terminated without any notice. The prayer of the petitioners is that they had worked with the respondent-Department for a considerable period of 10 years and therefore, they could not have been retrenched without any notice and without following the due process of law.

The pleadings of the petitioners are that they worked with the respondent-Department till the year 2012 and their services were terminated in the said year orally. The present writ petition has been filed in the year 2020 and no plausible cause or reason for such delay has been explained or given. In view of the inordinate delay, this Court is not inclined to interfere in the present matter. However, looking to the considerable period of service put in by the petitioners with the respondent-Department, the petitioners are directed to move an appropriate representation to the competent Authorities for consideration of their appointment. The respondent-Authorities are directed to decide the same within a period of four weeks of the same being filed keeping in consideration the relevant provisions of law and the precedent law.

With the above observations, the present writ petition is disposed of.
