Counsel for the petitioner submitted that the matter relates to election of Sarpanch and the petitioner has challenged the election of respondent No. 1 by way of filing election petition which is pending before the learned Trial Court (A.C.J.M.-Bonli).

Counsel further submits that the learned trial court may be directed to decide the election petition expeditiously.

Since the matter relates to an election dispute and having taken into consideration the fact that the tenure of Sarpanch is only for five years, I deem it just and proper to direct the learned trial court to decide the pending election petition No.32/2022
