The instant parole writ petition has been filed by the convictpetitioner Jagmohan Singh seeking to assail the adverse recommendations dated 02.11.2021 whereby, the application for grant of emergent parole for a period of fifteen days submitted on behalf of the petitioner on the ground of his mother’s ailment has been dismissed.
We have heard and considered the submissions advanced at bar and, have gone through the material available on record.
Alongwith reply of the State Government, copy of a letter forwarded by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Fatahgarh Sahib (Punjab) has been annexed as per which, the petitioner has serious criminal antecedents and as many as four criminal cases

are registered against him, three at Punjab and one at Rajasthan. One case registered at Patiala is for the offence punishable under Section 302 IPC. Another FIR No.197/2009 was registered against the petitioner at the Police Station Mohali (Punjab) for the offences under the Unlawful Activity Prevention Act. The Senior Superintendent of Police has expressed apprehension that the petitioner may indulge in heinous offences if released on parole. Such apprehension as expressed by a competent police officer at Punjab has not been allayed by the petitioner through any counter affidavit, etc. Thus, we are of firm opinion that the petitioner does not deserve indulgence of the emergent parole.
Hence, the instant writ petition is dismissed as being devoid of merit.
