This criminal parole writ petition has been filed by convict – Ashu Singh son of Trilok Singh, who is lodged in Central Jail, Udaipur with a prayer for releasing him on 20 days’ parole.

It appears that the application filed by the petitioner for releasing him on 20 days’ parole was earlier rejected by the Distt. Parole Committee vide its meeting dated 8.11.2016. Thereafter, the case of the convict for releasing him on 20 days’ parole was not considered by the Distt. Parole Committee.

This Court has taken into consideration the reasons given by the Distt. Parole Committee for rejecting the parole application of the petitioner in its meeting dated 8.11.2016. After going through the same, this Court finds that the reasons given by the Distt. Parole Committee for rejecting the application of the petitioner for 20 days’ parole are not justified.

As per the reply filed by the respondent – State, the petitioner has already undergone sentence of 4 years, 1 month and 21 days up to 31.1.2018

Having considered the facts and circumstances of the case, this criminal parole writ petition is allowed and it is ordered that convict – Ashu Singh son of Trilok Singh, lodged in Central Jail, Udaipur be released on parole for a period of 20 days from the date of his release provided he executes a personal bond in the sum of Rs.50,000/- along with one sound and solvent surety of the like amount to the satisfaction of the Superintendent, Central Jail, Udaipur.

The Superintendent, Central Jail, Udaipur is directed to give a date to convict - Ashu Singh son of Trilok Singh for his surrender before the jail authorities.
