The matter was placed before the Lok Adalat today. The parties have settled the matter through Lok Adalat as under:-
The instant civil misc.appea1 has been filed by the appellantslclaimants for enhancement of compensation awarded to the appellants/claimants to the tune of Rs.4,60,000/- by the learned Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Chittorgarh, vide award dated 03.02.2007 in MAC Case No.9712005 (Prem Kunwar & Ors. Vs. New India Assurance Co. Ltd. & Ors.).
With the agreement of both the parties, represented by their respective counsel, the compensation awarded by the learned Tribunal to the appeIlants1claimants is enhanced by a lumpsum amount of Rs.3,10,000/-, inclusive of all. 'The New India Assurance Company Limited shall deposit the enhanced amount w'ith the learned Tribunal within eight weeks from today, Iailing which the 1nCu;ance Company' shall pay the interest @ 9% per annum on the enhanced cornpensahon amount, till actual payment is made.
In view of the above, with the conseilt of both the parties, the instant civil misc.appea1 is hereby disposed of. The Registry is directed to send back the record forthwith.
