The matter was placed before the Lok Adalat today. The parties have settled the matter through Lok Adalat as under:-
The instant civil misc.appea1 has been filed by the appellants/claimants for enhancement of compensation awarded to the appellantsiclaimants to the tune of Rs.04,80,000/- by the learned Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Chittorgarh, vide award dated 03.02.2007 in MAC Case No.9612005 (Jalam Singh & Ors. Vs. New India Assurance Co. Ltd. & Ors.).
With the agreement of both the parties, represented by their respective coynsel, the compensation awarded by the learned Tribunal to the appellants/claimants is enhanced by a lumpsum amount of Rs.3,10,000/-, inclusive of all. ~h'e New India Assurance Company Limited shall deposit the enhanced amount with the learned Tribunal within eight weeks from today, failing which the Insurance Compa-ny shall pay the interest @ 9% per annum on the enhanced compensation amount, till actual payment is made.
In view of the above, with the consent of both the parties, the instant civil misc.appea1 is hereby disposed of.
The Registry is directed to send back the record forthwith
