The petitioners, in the instant writ application, approached this Court with the prayer to allow them to participate in the selection process initiated through publication of the advertisement No.1/20022003 dated 29.05.2002. The advertisement further stipulated a condition to the effect that the application(s) of the candidates intending to participate in the selection process ought to reach the office of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission by 5.00 PM of 17th July, 2002.
The instant writ application was instituted on 13th July, 2004.
This Court vide an ex-parte order dated 19th July, 2004, allowed the petitioners to participate in the selection process provisionally, in the written

examination for the post of Associate Professor, making it clear that the participation in the written examination shall not create any equity in favour of the petitioners.
Since the selection process was initiated in the month of May, 2002 and in all probability the process of selection might have been concluded long back.
Mr. Dharmendra Jain, who appeared before this Court on 24th April, 2014, was granted an opportunity to seek instructions in the matter, posting the matter after two weeks.
Today, Mr. Jain, present in the Court states that he made an effort to contact the petitioners but none of them is residing at the address as detailed out in the memo of writ application.
It appears that the petitioners have lost interest in the matter and are no more interested to prosecute the claim staked in the writ application.
In view of the above, the writ application is hereby closed. However, it will be open for the petitioners to move an application for revival of the

writ proceedings, if something material still survives for adjudication. The interim order granted stands
vacated.
