The present writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of t h e Constitutio n of India for issuance of an appropriate writ or order in t h e nature of m a ndamus directing the responde n ts to revise and refix the pensi o n of petition e rs by taking into account the multiplier factor of 2.59 on t h e basic pay w.e.f. 01.01.2016 along wit h all consequential benefits o f pension/fa m ily pension including the arre a rs of pension w.e.f. 01.01.2016 along with i nterest.

others Versus State of Punjab and others , and now stands decided o n 29.01.2026 , in which the issue regardi n g refixation of pension of t h e petitioner(s ) therein by taking into acco u nt the multiplier of 2.59 w a s considered. Learned counsel for the pe t itioners prays that the prese n t petition be d isposed of in terms of Nirmal Singh’s case (supra). 3. Learned State counsel for the respondents submits that he h a s no objectio n in case the present petition i s disposed of in terms of Nirmal

In view of the submissions m ade by learned counsel for t h e parties, the present petition is disposed o f terms of Nirmal Singh’s case (supra) wit h the following directions:-

(i) The Empowered Comm i ttee constituted under the Punj a b Litigation Policy is hereby dir e cted to treat the writ petition as a comprehensive representation and to consider and adjudica t e upon the issue raised herein. I n the alternative, the petitioner( s ) shall be at liberty to su b mit their respective detail e d representation(s) setting out t h eir claim(s) within a period o f two weeks from the date of r e ceipt of a certified copy of th i s order.

(ii) The Committee shall pa s s a reasoned and speaking orde r , after granting an opportuni t y of personal hearing to t h e petitioner(s), within a period o f four months from the date o f receipt of certified copy of t his order, or from the date o f receipt of the representation o f the petitioner(s), as the case m a y
