This is the appellant-claima n ts’ appeal for enhancement of the compe n sation amount of ₹8,89,000/- a long with interest @ 7.5% per annum, a w arded to them by the learned M otor Accident Claims Tribunal, Sonipat, i n a proceeding under Section 1 6 6 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
The matter pertains to the ye a r 2022 and notice is yet to be issued in t h e same. Perusal of order-sheet reveals that on the last date of hearing i.e. 21.12.2022, the appellants ha v e gone un-represented. Today also for t h e second time, none has put i n appearance on behalf of the appellants, despite the case having been ca l led twice.
Therefore, it can safely be presumed that the appellants or their coun s el are not interested in pursuin g the instant appeal. Thus, this Court is le f t with no other option except t o dismiss the present appeal for non-prose c ution.
Ordered accordingly.
