Th r ough the instant petition, as filed under Article 226 of t he Constitution of India, the petitioners have sou g ht issuance of directions upon t he respondents No. 2 & 3, to ensure protection of their lives and liberty at the ha n ds of respondent N os. 4 to 8, and, also to restrain t h e said respondents from harass i ng the petitioners o r interfering in their peaceful li fe .

Th e counsel for the petitioners st a te that since both the petition e rs have attained m inimum age, as prescribed by statute, for solemnizing marria g e, therefore, they have lawfully solemnized m arriage, however, it has cau s ed grievance to re s pondent Nos. 4 to 8. Such grie v ance of the respondent Nos. 4 t o 8 has made them apprehensive of danger to their lives and liberty and resultantl y , it has constrained them to approach this court, t o seek protection of their lives a nd liberty. The m a rriage certificate of the peti t ioners is available on record as Annexure P-3. The petitioners have also s ubmitted a representation da t ed 31.05.2025 (An n exure P-5) to respondent No.2.

It is clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunit y to the petitioners f rom legal action against viola t ion of law, if any, committed by them. This or d er shall not be understood to have expressed any opin i on whatsoever by t h is court on the validity of the m arriage of the petitioners.
