T h e present petition has been fil e d under Article 226/227 of th e Constitution o f India seeking issuance of a w rit of mandamus directing th e official respon d ents No.2 and 3 to protect the l ife and liberty of the petitioner s at the hands of respondents No. 4 to 6 and to t a ke action on their representatio n dated 12.03.20 2 5 (Annexure P-5).

A t the very outset, learned c o unsel for the petitioners ha s submitted tha t the petitioners have recen t ly filed a representation o n 12.03.2025 be f ore the Senior Superintendent of Police, SAS Nagar, Mohal i (Annexure P-5) raising their grievances as m e ntioned in the present petitio n but the same h a s not yet been considered and n o action has been taken thereon . He further su b mitted that at this stage, the p etitioners would be satisfied i f appropriate dir e ctions are issued to respondent No. 2- Senior Superintendent o f Police, SAS N a gar, Mohali to decide the afor e said representation filed by th e petitioners and take necessary action thereon.

Needless to say, if any threat is found to the petitioners, the officia l respondents w o uld provide them adequate sec u rity in order to protect their lif e and liberty.
