The present petition has been filed under Section 528 of the BNSS, 2023 seeking issuance of appropriate directions to respondents No.1 to 3 to take strict legal action against respondents No.4 to 11 as per representation dated 24.02.2025 (Annexure P-2) with a further prayer to direct the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondents No.4 to 11.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submitted that a representation/complaint dated 24.02.2025 (Annexure P-2) was filed by the petitioner before the Senior Superintendent of Police, District Ferozepur for taking legal action against respondents No.4 to 11 but no legal action has been taken till date. He further submitted that the aforesaid representation/complaint

was sent by way of a registered post.

At this stage, Ms. Seena Sandhu, Addl. A.G., Punjab submitted that she has received an advance copy of the present petition and has also sought instructions in the present case. She submitted on instructions from ASI Balwinder Singh that an inquiry was initiated on the basis of the aforesaid representation/complaint and both the parties were called but none of them turned up and further inquiry is in process.

After hearing the learned counsels for the parties and the aforesaid statement made by the learned State counsel, this Court is of the considered view that on the basis of aforesaid representation/complaint (Annexure P-2) filed by the petitioner since an inquiry is still pending as the subject matter of the case is pertaining to a matrimonial dispute, no such interference can be made at this stage.

Consequently, the present petition is dismissed.
