Learned counsel for the pet i tioner submits that contempt proceedin g s be initiated against the respond e nt for not complying the order dated 07. 1 0.2023 (Annexure P-1) passed b y a co-ordinate Bench of this Court in C WP-22587-2023 titled as “Bald e v Raj vs. State of Punjab and others”, vide which the direction was issu e d to the respondent(s) “….to responde n t No.5 The Executive Officer, M unicipal Council, Ferozepur, District F e rozepur to get the legal notice dated 20.1.2023 (Annexure P-12) examined in accordance with law, so t h at the same is disposed of expeditio u sly preferably within a period of 4 months from today. In case, anything i s found to be due to be paid to t h e petitioner, the same be paid within a p eriod of two months thereafter alongwith interest @ 5% per annum. In case, the same is not paid within t he stipulated period, the entire

amount, i f found to be payable to the petit i oner, shall be paid alongwith interest @ 10% per annum.”

In pursuance of order dated 26 . 3.2025 passed by a co-ordinate Bench of this Court, the respondent has a l ready filed Short Reply dated 24.9.2024 by way of affidavit of Mrs. P oonam Bhatnagar, Executive Officer, M unicipal Council, Ferozepur in t h e Registry, which is annexed with the f ile. The same is ordered to be ta k en on record. Copy thereof is supplied t o learned counsel for the petition e r. Registry to tag/paginate the same at a p propriate place in the paper-book.

Learned counsel for the resp o ndent submits that necessary complian c e has been made while passing a S peaking Order dated 24.9.2024 (Annexur e R-1); and on the same date pay m ent of Rs.1,90,754/- inclusive of interes t has been made to the petitioner; thus, no cause survives in the present petition.

Learned counsel for the petiti o ner does not dispute the said fact and a d mits that the Writ Court order da t ed 07.10.2023 (Annexure P-1) has been c omplied with and submits that th e present contempt petition may be dispos e d of.

In view of the above noted f a cts and submissions made by learned c o unsel for the petitioner, no fur th er orders are required to be passed in t he present petition, the same is disposed of accordingly. Rule stands discharged.

Pending application(s), if any, shall stand(s) disposed of.
