Present contempt petition has been filed alleging violation of order dated 10.8.2023 (An n exure P-1) passed by a coordinate B ench of this Court in CWP- 1 7425-2023 titled as “Nagar Singh K h attra and others vs. State of Pu nj ab and others”, whereby the petition w as disposed of with the follow i ng observation and direction

In view of th e aforesaid submission, the instant petition is dis p osed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Secretary, Department of Public Works (B&R), Punja b to consider the legal notice dated 07.06.2023 (A n nexure P-8) in accordance with law and to take a decision at the earliest by way of passing a spea k ing order.

Learned counsel for the S tate files the Compliance Report d a ted 02.12.2025 by way of af f idavit of Shri Ravi Bhagat, Secretary to Government of Punjab, Public Works Department (B&R), B ranch, Punjab Civil Secretari a t, Chandigarh on behalf of responde n t No.1. The same is taken on r e cord. Learned State counsel submits t h at in compliance of the Writ C ourt order dated 10.8.2023 a Speaking Order dated 15.1.2024 (Annex u re R-1) has been passed. It is furthe r pointed out that in respect of the benefits that were to be accorded to the petitioners as per the 6 th Pay Commission, a letter dated 18. 2 .2025 (Annexure R-2) has be e n received from the Finance Departm e nt, as per which, the Gover n ment proposes to give all arrears to the petitioners by way of insta l lments. Learned counsel for the Stat e refers to the averments m a de in para 7 of the said Complia n ce Report to submit that tw o installments already stand released t o all the 11 petitioners.

Learned counsel for the peti t ioners submits that since the Writ Co u rt order dated 10.8.2023 (Anne x ure P-1) has been complied with whi l e passing a Speaking Order dat e d 15.1.2024 (Annexure R-1)
