Prayer in this petition is for initiation of contempt proceedi n gs against the respondent for n ot complying the directions issued vi d e interim order dated 31.3.202 2 (Annexure P-1) passed by a Division Bench of this Court in CW P -6685-2022 titled as “M/s Alliance Paints vs. Authorized Officer, Punjab National Bank and another” vide which notice of motion w as issued to the respondents and it wa s observed and directed as follo w s :-

“….Prima facie, suc h a stand on the part of the respondents appears t o be patently arbitrary and such economic du r ess cannot be accepted. Therefore, there shall be stay of all coercive action

At the very outset, it is sub m itted by learned counsel for the respo n dents that the present contem p t petition has been rendered infructuo u s as the Division Bench of t his Court vide order dated 18.12.20 2 3 has held the main Civil Writ Petition to be not maintain a ble; and therefore the interim o rder dated 31.3.2022 would merge in the final order dated 18.12.2 0 23 passed by the Division Bench of this Court.

Copy of the aforesaid orde r dated 18.12.2023 produced by the le a rned counsel for the responde n ts is taken on record. Copy thereof i s supplied to learned counsel f o r the petitioner. Registry to tag/pagin a te the same at appropriate plac e in the paper-book.

Learned counsel for the p e titioner, although does not deny the aforesaid order dated 18.12. 2 023, however, submits that there has been violation of the order date d 31.3.2022.

In view of the facts su b mitted above, the present contempt petition is disposed of having b een rendered infructuous. Rule stands discharged.
