The petitioners who are working as Pump Opeators seek issuance of directions to the respondents to promote them as Junior Engineers w.e.f. 22.06.2021 in accordance with Notification dated 22.6.2021 (Annexure P-2).

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners at this stage would be satisfied in case the respondents consider their case for the purpose of promotion in accordance with the Notification.

Upon an advance copy of petition having been supplied to State, Mr. Inderpreet Singh Kang, AAG, Punjab has put in appearance on behalf of respondents.

Having regard to the limited prayer made on behalf of the petitioners at this stage, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the case of the petitioners for promotion as Junior Engineers in accordance with Notification. The petitioners would be at liberty to file a

Upon such representation being submitted, the respondents shall consider the same in accordance with law and dispose of the same expeditiously. In case the petitioners are found entitled to relief of promotion, the consequential benefits, if any, found flowing from the same shall also be released to them.
