Upon receipt of a letter from Mamta Rani pertaining to illegal detention of her brother Amit Verma, the same was ordered to be treated as a habeas corpus petition.
Reply on behalf of the State has been filed which is accompanied by statement of Mamta Rani wherein she has stated that on 19.9.2019, 5/6 persons in civil dress had come in two cars when her brother Amit Verma was standing near Bikaner Bakery, Phase 1, Dugri, Ludhiana. The said persons asked petitioner’s brother and two others to sit in their car.

However, a compromise has been arrived at and now her brother is residing in his house and she does not wish to pursue the writ petition.
In view of the aforestated position, no directions are required to
be issued in the present matter. The petition as such is disposed of having been rendered infructuous.
