The petitioner has prayed for the issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing the order dated 12.12.2015 passed by the Lok Adalat. The petitioner was not a party to the proceedings before the Lok Adalat. The case of the petitioner is that the respondent-Gram Panchayat should not have compromised the matter with the persons (who are not arrayed as party in this petition) who were before the Lok Adalat.

After hearing learned counsel for the petitioner and examining the available record, I am of the considered opinion that the petitioner has no cause of action to challenge the order of the Lok Adalat and that too after a period of almost two years especially when the Gram Panchayat had taken a decision to receive double of the amount of the land, fixed by the District Price Fixation Committee, as the said persons have already constructed their houses over the said land. The Gram Panchayat passed the resolution on 09.12.2015 and granted permission to Balwant Singh, Panch to enter into the compromise on behalf of the Panchayat. admitted to pay the amount, as determined. Consequently, the matter was put to rest by the Lok Adalat in view of a compromise between the parties.

In view thereof, the present petition is found to be without any merit and hence, the same is hereby dismissed, though without any order as to costs.
