The short grievance of the petitioners in the instant writ petition is that their application under Section 28A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (hereinafter referred to as 'the Act'), is not being referred to/decided on merits by the Land Acquisition Collector-respondent No.2. The above-stated application pertains to the petitioners' acquired land mentioned in para No.1 of the writ petition and situated within the revenue estate of Talwandi Bhai, Tehsil and District Ferozepur, for which they seek compensation at par with the other land owners to whom enhanced compensation @ Rs.7,25,000/- per acre has been granted by the Hon'ble Supreme Court vide order dated 11.04.2013.

It is also averred that the petitioners have already represented the respondent-Authority vide Request Letter dated 11.02.2014 (Annexure P-2) but no action or decision on their application under Section 28-A of the Act has been taken.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioners and considering the nature of relief sought in this writ petition, we dispose of the same with a direction to respondent No.2-Land Acquisition Collector, to decide the application, if any moved by the petitioners under Section 28A of the Act, by passing a speaking order in accordance with law, as early as possible but not later than four months from the date of receiving a certified copy of this order.
