On our asking, Mr. Sukhdeep Singh Brar, Addl.
Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the
respondents.

Let three copies of the writ petition be supplied
to the learned State counsel during the course of the day
failing which this order shall be automatically recalled and
the writ petition shall be deemed to have been dismissed for
non- prosecution.

In view of the nature of order which we propose to
pass, there is no need to seek any counter-reply from the
respondents at this stage.

revenue estate of village Gobindpura, Tehsil Budhlada,

District Mansa, was acquired by the State of Punjab in the
year 2011 for construction of Peona Thermal Power Plant and
the Award was passed on 25.03.2011 (Annexure P-1).

The short grievance of the petitioners in the

instant writ petition is that they are running from pillar to
post to recover the amount of compensation which has not been
paid to them so far. The petitioners in this regard sent
formal representations to the respondents including
representation dated 5.1.2014 (Annexure P-3) but in vain.

Having heard learned counsel for the parties and

considering the specific plea taken by the petitioners that
the compensation amount has not been paid to them for the
acquired land in terms of the Award dated 25.03.2011
(Annexure P-1), we dispose of this writ petition with
a direction to the respondents to verify the above-mentioned
claim of the petitioners and if found correct, release the
due amount of compensation alongwith interest in their favour
within a period of three months from the date of receiving a
certified copy of this order.
