Challenge in this petition is to the policy decision with regard to transferring of villages from one Sugar Mill to another. It was decided that the final decision will be taken in this context by the Punjab Government under Clause 6 of Sugarcane Control Order, 1966 and Rule 10 of the Punjab Sugarcane (Regulation of Purchase and Supply) Rules, 1958.

Counsel for the State has informed today that pursuant to the proceedings conducted on 13.12.2013 personal hearing was granted to the representatives of the Mills belonging to Chadha Sugar and Industries Pvt. Ltd. Kiri Afgana, AB Sugar Mills Dasuya, Indian Sucrose Mill Mukerian, Rana Sugar Limited Butter Sevian, Cooperative Sugar Mill Gurdaspur, Cooperative Sugar Mill Batala and Cooperative Sugar Mill Bhogpur and thereafter the necessary notification has been issued on 4.3.2014.
Pursuant of the notification dated 4.3.2014, this writ petition has been rendered infructuous.
Dismissed as infructuous.
