On the asking of the Court, Mr. Arshdeep Singh Kler, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 4. Copy of the paper book supplied to the learned State counsel.

As per the petitioners they are major and married on 3.2.2014. They have placed on file the photographs of their marriage as Annexure P-4 and the documents to show that they are major. The compromise in between the parties reflects that the parties have reconciled. It has been assured on behalf of the private respondents that they will not interfere in the matrimonial life or in any way in the life and liberty of the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners will be satisfied if Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur i.e. respondent

No.2 is directed to take appropriate action in accordance with law on the representation dated 3.2.2014 (Annexure P/5), made to him by the petitioners.

In view of the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioners and without going into the merits of the claim raised, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 i.e. Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur to take appropriate action in accordance with law to save the life and liberty of the petitioners and also on representation dated 3.2.2014 (Annexure P/5), on production of certified copy of this order.

However, it is made clear that this order will have no effect on the validity of alleged marriage of the petitioners or on any other civil or criminal proceedings instituted against them.
