Quashing of FIR No. 119 dated 02.07.2012 under Sections 406/498A/506/120-B IPC, registered at Police Station Sultanwind, Amritsar City, Distt. Amritsar, is being sought on the basis of compromise effected between the parties on 25.04.2014 in Hon'ble the Supreme Court in SLP (Crl.) No. 4259-60 of 2013 (Annexure P2).

Respondent No. 2 got married to petitioner No. 5 on 01.12.2010 according to Sikh Rites and ceremonies at Amritsar. Due to temperamental difference, both the parties could not pull on together as husband and wife. Thereafter, the F.I.R was registered against the petitioners.

parties on 25.04.2014 in Hon'ble the Supreme Court in SLP (Crl.) No. 4259-60 of 2013 (Annexure P2). As per compromise deed, respondent No. 2 accepted Rs.5 lacs from the petitioners towards full and final settlement and it was agreed between the parties to approach this Court for quashing of the F.I.R and other criminal proceedings.

The petition under Section 13-B of the Hindu Marriage Act was filed by power of attorney of Hardeep Singh and statement of respondent No. 2 has been recorded on 18.09.2014 as informed by Mr. Sharma and the matter has now been listed in March, 2015 for second statement. There are no other cases pending between the parties

Keeping in view of the above facts and in view of the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Dr. Arvind Barsaul etc. versus State of Madhya Pradesh and another 2008(2) RCR (Criminal) 910 , no useful purpose would be served in prolonging the litigation.

Accordingly, FIR No. 119 dated 02.07.2012 under Sections 406/498A/506/120-B IPC, registered at Police Station Sultanwind, Amritsar City, Distt. Amritsar, is quashed along with all consequential proceedings arising therefrom qua petitioners, subject to finalisation of proceedings in the petition filed under Hindu Marriage Act.
