After having been released on regular bail the petitioner absented from trial w.e.f. October 9, 2013. Petitioner was declared a proclaimed offender on January 16, 2014 but he surrendered on January 18, 2014. The petitioner has been in custody since the said date. While the petitioner had been in custody, the complainant has been examined but he resiled from his earlier statement made to the police.

In view of the above said circumstances, this Court is of the considered opinion that the period of detention suffered by the petitioner after January 18, 2014 will have a deterrent effect upon the petitioner not to absent himself without any sufficient cause.
Petition is allowed. Petitioner is ordered to be released on bail on his furnishing bail bonds/ surety bonds to the satisfaction of the trial Court.
