The petitioner is statedly the owner in possession of land measuring 19 marlas situated within the revenue estate of village Malikpur, Tehsil and District Pathankot, which was purchased by him vide a registered sale deed dated 27.08.2010.
It is averred that the above-stated land has been taken over and utilized by the National Highways Authority of India on the pretext of Right of Way without any acquisition process. The petitioner, therefore, seeks a mandamus to direct the respondent-authorities to pay him adequate compensation for use and occupation of his land.
We find that in this regard the petitioner served the respondent-authorities vide a legal notice dated 20.06.2013 (Annexure P-10) but no reply thereof has been

received by him.
We thus dispose of this writ petition with a direction to the respondents to verify the claim of the petitioner and dispose of the same by passing a speaking order within a period of four months from the date of receiving a certified copy of this order.
