The prayer made in the present petition is for issuance of directions to the respondent to decide the Statutory Appeal filed by the petitioner.
Learned counsel states that his statutory appeal was filed in the month of October, 2012 but despite the lapse of almost 9 months the same has not been decided. He further states that even though it has been mentioned in the petition that there is no time limit for deciding such appeals yet any statutory appeal should be decided within any reasonable time. He further prays that he would not press for issuance of notice to the respondent but would be satisfied if a direction is given to the respondent to
decide the appeal within any reasonable time.

I find this to be a fair request. Resultantly, the respondent is directed to decide the said statutory appeal filed by the petitioner by passing a speaking order thereon on or before 31.12.2013.
