Instant petition has been filed under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in case FIR No. 497, dated 08.09.2000, under Sections 406, 420 of the Indian Penal Code, registered at Police Station Sadar, District Jalandhar.
Learned counsel for the petitioner, after arguing for some time, states that he may be permitted to withdraw this petition. He further states that since the petitioner has been declared proclaimed offender, he will surrender/appear before the trial Court and seek regular bail and his regular bail application be decided expeditiously.
I have considered the contention of the learned counsel for the
petitioner.

Present petition is dismissed as withdrawn. However, the petitioner may surrender/appear before the trial Court. In the event of his doing so, his regular bail application, if moved, will be decided in accordance with law expeditiously, preferably within a week.
