The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for issuance of directions to the respondents No. 1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners and to save them from the illegal as well as unnecessary harassment in the hands of respondents No. 4 to 9.

It is alleged that the petitioners are major. The age of petitioner No.1 is more than 18 years as her date of birth is 20.3.1991.The petitioner No.2 is more than 21 years as his date of birth is 2.4.1990. Reliance has been placed on the certificates issued by the Punjab School Education Board as Annexures P-1 & P-2. It is alleged that they got married on 15.4.2013 at Panchkula in Gurudwara Sahib. The marriage certificate and photographs of the marriage ceremony have been appended as Annexures P-3 & P-4 respectively. Apprehending danger to their life a representation was made to the respondent No.2 on 15.4.2013. Copy of the representation made to the respondent No.2 is appended as Annexure P-5. Accordingly, present petition has been filed for seeking protection to life and liberty of the petitioners from the private respondents and their relatives.

After hearing counsel for the petitioners and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the validity of the marriage and keeping in view the binding precedent of the Hon'ble Apex Court in Lata Singh vs. State of U.P. and another, 2006 (2) SCC (Criminal) 478, the present petition is disposed of with directions to respondent no. 2 to look into the matter and take necessary action in accordance with law and provide protection, if required.
