The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for directing the respondents No.2 & 3 to grant security to the petitioners against the imminent danger and threat of elimination from respondent no.4 to 9.

It has been pleaded that petitioner no.1 is major and her date of birth is 11.3.1994 as per middle standard examination certificate issued by the Punjab School Education Board (Annexure P-1). The date of birth of petitioner no.2 is 20.1.1991 as per middle standard examination certificate issued by the Punjab School Education Board (Annexure P-2). It has been averred that the petitioners have got married on 9.4.2013 as per the Sikh rites, rituals and ceremonies at Prachin Gurudwara Dasmesh Pitah Patshahi Dashmi Buda Dal, Sector 2, Panchkula and copies of marriage certificate and photographs are appended as Annexures P-3 and P-4 respectively. The said marriage is opposed by the private respondents and they had given a representation dated 9.4.2013 (Annexure P-5) to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandharrespondent no.2 with a prayer to protect the life and liberty of the

The present petition came up for hearing before this Court on 11.4.2013 and this Court was not satisfied regarding the age of petitioner no.1 as on that day the original of Annexure P-1 (middle standard examination certificate issued by the Punjab School Education Board) was not with the counsel for the petitioners. Today the original of Annexure P-1 has been produced before this Court and photocopy thereof has been placed on the file.

After hearing counsel for the parties and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the validity of the marriage and the age of the petitioners and keeping in view the binding precedent of the Hon'ble Apex Court in Lata Singh vs. State of U.P. And another, 2006 (2) SCC (Criminal) 478, the present petition is disposed of with directions to respondent no. 2 to look into the matter and take necessary action in accordance with law and provide protection, if required.
