The petitioner has approached this Court for issuance of writ of mandamus commanding the Gram Panchayat of Village Dullar, Tehsil Samana, District Patiala, to reserve 1/3rd of its Shamilat deh land for auction to Scheduled Castes, in terms of Rule 6(1)(a) of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Rules, 1964 and instructions dated 9.2.2010.
Counsel for the Gram Panchayat states that out of the total Shamilat deh available with Gram Panchayat, the share of land to be auctioned in favour of Scheduled Caste, comes to 66.17 acres. The

said land has been separately reserved for Scheduled Caste and shall be auctioned, in accordance with law, to persons belonging to the Scheduled Caste category.
In view of the statement made by counsel for the Gram Panchayat, the present writ petition has been rendered infructuous and is disposed of accordingly.
