Petitioners have invoked the jurisdiction of this Court claiming a writ of mandamus directing the respondents not to charge interest on installment amount till the completion of the development work.
The present petition was ordered to be heard along with Civil Writ Petition No . 12680 of 1992, Sanjay Ahuja vs. Haryana Urban Development Authority. The said writ petition has been decided on 27.4.2009, wherein it has been held that the petitioners are liable to pay interest in view of the judgment of Hon'ble the Supreme Court rendered in U.T. Chandigarh Administration vs. Amarjeet Singh & ors, 2009(4) SCC 660.
