This order will dispose of a bunch of petitions bearing CWP Nos.21759, 22180, 22677 and 22785 of 2012.
The petitioners herein are working on the posts of Fireman and Leading Fireman in the various Municipal Councils and Corporations, in the State of Punjab.
The grievance raised by them is that the pay-scales granted to them vide order dated 06.06.2012 have been withdrawn vide order dated 22.10.2012, without affording any opportunity of hearing to them.
Learned counsel for the respondent-State submitted that before the aforesaid order will be implemented, the petitioners shall be afforded an opportunity of hearing and thereafter in case it is found that the order already passed is valid, the same shall be implemented. In case the claim made by the petitioners and other similarly situated employees, is rejected, the reasons therefor shall be communicated to them.
The petitioners through their counsel are directed to appear before the Principal Secretary, Department of Local Government, Punjab on 05.12.2012 at 11.00 a.m.
The petitions stand disposed of in above terms.
