Prabhjot Singh and Ors. Vs State of Punjab and Anr.

The present petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been filed for quashing of FIR No.87 dated 24.5.2009 registered under Section 380 of Indian Penal Code, at Police Station Dhariwal, District Gurdaspur and subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise (Annexure P-2) arrived at between the parties. Heard.

Parties are present in person. They have admitted the factum of compromise. Report of the trial Court regarding compromise effected between the parties has also been received in which it is stated that statements of the parties regarding compromise, were recorded.

In view of the above, this Court is of the opinion that no useful purpose would be served in continuing the proceedings. Accordingly, this
