Prayer in this petition is for grant of regular bail to petitioner-Gurmit Singh, who has been booked for having committed the offences punishable under Sections 406, 420 and 506 read with Section 34, IPC, registered at Police Station, Sidhwan Bet, Ludhiana.
Learned counsel contends that the petitioner is behind the bars from 17.10.2011. He further contends that the coaccused of the petitioner, namely, Ranjit Singh had faced the trial and was acquitted on 16.05.2009 by the learned Judicial Magistrate Ist Class, Jagraon. He also contends that the case of the petitioner is on better footings then that of his co-accusedRanjit Singh.
Learned counsel for the State has not denied the fact that the petitioner is behind the bars from 17.10.2011.

Magistrate Ist Class and it will take sufficient long time to conclude it. The petitioner has already suffered incarceration for more than one year. The co-accused of the petitioner has already been acquitted by the learned trial court.
Keeping in view the totality of the circumstances of the case, the present petition is allowed. Petitioner-Gurmit Singh, s/o Bhajan Singh, r/o Village Rampur, Taprian, Police Station Kurali, District Ropar, is ordered to be released on bail, during the pendency of the trial, subject to his furnishing bail bonds to the satisfaction of learned trial court/Duty Magistrate.
