The prayer of the petitioners in the present petition is for issuance of direction to the respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners with a further prayer for issuance of direction to the respondents to comply with the provisions of law.

It is contended that the son of the petitioners is involved in case FIR No.226 dated 03.11.2011 under Sections 302, 379, 506, 148, 149 IPC and Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act registered at Police Station Sahnewal, District Ludhiana. The same is placed on record as Annexure P-1. It is further stated that the petitioners are not the accused in the said FIR. Still, they are being harassed.

In view of the statement made by learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners are not wanted in the said FIR in the said Police Station or in any other case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents that in case, the petitioners are required for enquiry or investigation in the above mentioned FIR, the provisions of Section 160 of the Cr.P.C shall be complied with.

Copy of the order be given dasti under the signatures of Reader attached to this Court to learned counsel for the respondent-State for further information.
